The Dutch colony of Indonesia, portraying both ancient Javanese sculpture and ethnographic artefacts from throughout the archipelago. Published to coincide with the colonial exhibition in Amsterdam. the plates depict wooden statuettes, gold and bronze Buddhas, idols, weapons, shawls, paintings on cotton, puppets and so on from Bali, Java, Sumba, Damar and Borneo.
